Oh, hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. My name is Kristine, I am 23, and I am LDS. I'm happily married to my husband, Matt. I currently reside in Arizona (but that may change in the next few months). I just moved back from teaching English in Japan for about a year to pursue my lifelong dream of working in the business of fashion.
Although I blogged casually for years, I started blogging seriously in October 2010 to document my personal style. My style changes from day to day, but mostly it is simple, colorful, modest, and girly, with a little bit of quirkiness thrown in. I don't have a lot of money to spend on clothes, so my style is budget-conscious as well.
Oh yeah, and why am I Kristine or Polly? Well, Kristine is my real name, and Polly is a nickname that was given to me. I am a very petite girl, so a friend nicknamed me Polly after the toy, Polly Pocket.
A few more tidbits about myself:
- I graduated from Arizona State University in 2010 with a BS in Supply Chain Management. Don't know what that is? Neither do most people.
- I love Christmas more than anything in the world. That might not be an exaggeration.
- I was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in August 2007, when I was 18 years old. It has been a tremendous blessing in my life.
- I have a very strong sweet tooth. Mostly, I can't get enough of a classic chocolate chip cookie or red velvet cake.
- I am 100% Filipino. A lot of people have trouble guessing my ethnicity, so it's fun to hear their guesses.
- My favorite movies include Amelie, Pride and Prejudice, and The Darjeeling Limited. I also have a great love for Hollywood musicals, so I also love Chicago and The Sound of Music. My husband and I even went on a Sound of Music tour in Austria for our honeymoon!
- My music taste is varied, but my favorites are Sufjan Stevens, Andrew Bird, St. Vincent, and Arcade Fire.
- My husband and I are completely in love with Tokyo. We'd love to move there permanently someday.
- Currently, I am getting ready to go back to school. Right now, I am a sales associate at Anthropologie as well as a social media intern for Shabby Apple.
