Loving: My two-week break from school. I've been working a ton to keep me busy, but it's nice not having to worry about anything due. Also loving - brownies, and my colorful cork bag from Le Mode Accessories (not available anymore, sorry!).

Reading: The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell. I've been wanting to read Malcolm Gladwell for years now, and have now just gotten around to it. I took a trend forecasting class last quarter, and I love getting his perspective on how trends move. (Sidenote: His TED talk is really interesting as well.)

Watching: Gangnam Style on YouTube... makes me laugh every time.

Thinking about: What direction to take my blog. I'll be honest... after about two years of style blogging, I'm in the market to add something new to Kristine or Polly.

Stressing about: Fall internships! I've been applying like crazy for buying internships for the fall quarter. If you know of anything in Los Angeles, please let me know!

Looking forward to: My cousin's wedding in a few weeks, where I get to see my family. It'll be so nice to have them around, even for just a little bit. Oh yeah, and I am also looking forward to the HOLIDAYS!!! For whatever reason today, I got so excited for Christmas-y candles and hand soap... And then "Noel" played in my head... I'm getting giddy just thinking about it.

Making me happy: The weather cooling down. Our landlord (of course) told us we'd be totally fine without air conditioning in our apartment... but let me tell you, the last few weeks were brutal. I'm definitely looking forward to cardigan weather.

Thanks Danielle for the inspiration to do this post!

  1. Oh! I can't wait until this weather cools for good. It fluctuates 70-90 outside right now. Also, I've changed the direction of my blog so many times it isn't even funny.

  2. I totally feel you with feeling stuck in style blogging. I only did it for about a year, but I just started to feel really down on myself, even though the intention was to feel more confident. I got too caught up in projecting a sense of confident taste all the time. I moved to a new lifestyle blog and now pretty much shy away from the camera. It's strange how my perspective has changed. - Leah

  3. That book was a very interesting read. (Sidenote: I'm jealous that you get to study things like trend forecasting.) I support whatever direction you want to start heading with this blog... you know, whenever you figure out what that is!

  4. How did you like the last book you were reading? The Sun Also Rises, right?

  5. youre reading malcolm gladwell!!!! I am a HUGE fan of his, read all of his books. My personal favorite is outliers, I highly recommend all of his books though! enjoy!

  6. First off, can we talk about how perfect that colorful cork bag is? Kind of sad that it's out of stock.
And if you come up with a new direction to take your blog, let me know. I'm in the same situation.
And yay to upcoming weddings :)

  7. Have I ever told you how awesome you are? Because you are. Thanks girl.

  8. I'm really looking forward to an "Oppa Tokyo Style." I don't think Japanese people are badass enough to make that happen though. Someone needs to do it, there are so many nice sights and places in Tokyo!

And you're right about you loving Christmas... haha.

It's finally cardigan weather here in Japan! Yay for no more humidity!

  9. Kristine, I'm so happy to have found your blog<3 A fellow LDS, Filipino convert from L.A. who loves fashion?? I'm in love haha. So happy to *meet* you and look forward to reading more! Love your style and adorableness!

  10. Check out - I scored two internships, one turning into a full time job, from that website!! Your bag is adorable!! Keep enjoying the little things <3

  11. I really love that bag, the splatter paint patter reminds me of the LAMB bag I own. Great post!

I totally enjoyed the Tipping Point! What do you think of it so far?
    Good luck on internships!! =)
And enjoy your cousin's wedding! So fun.

  14. I cannot get enough of gangam style. Soooo funny!! :) I have a fun giveaway on my blog that I think you will like! Check it out:

  15. Yuck! Going without air condition sucks. But I totally agree with you on the cooler weather. Fall is my favorite season. I hate that the bag is no longer available considering how much I LOVE it!

  16. This is so late (sorry) but YES, Tokyo Style would be amazing! I'm still so jealous that you are in Japan - fall is so beautiful there!

  17. Sorry this is so late, but yay, so good to meet another LDS Filipino convert!
