Skirt: Shabby Apple; Shoes: c/o Blowfish
How have I not had a tulle skirt until now? I wore this Shabby Apple Tinsel Town skirt to church and I cannot tell you how happy I felt to be wearing a big, fluffy, white, whimsical, and twirly skirt. If those adjectives didn't sell you, consider the following:
1. When I got in the car, I had to literally gather my skirt in my hands so that the door wouldn't close on it- which reminded me of the end of The Wedding Planner when Fran gets in a taxi in her wedding dress and all you can see is her head peeking out through a cloud of tulle. And I love that movie, so naturally, this was a good feeling.
2. It is so voluminous that I thought if there was a bear attack, the bear would be scared off because the skirt is so fluffy and it would give me the illusion of being bigger than I actually am (in a good way, of course).
So there you go. It reminds me of weddings and would save me from bear attacks. I want to wear this skirt every day from now on.
This weekend was pretty low key, as are most of my weekends, now that I think of it. We picked up a table off of Craigslist, went to Ikea, played tourist around Burbank, checked out the new Poketo store in Little Tokyo, and went to Huntington Beach to meet up with Matt's cousins for dinner. I am loving California.

aw, so cute. I thought it was a dress. You look like a bride!
ReplyDeleteIt is so very Carrie Bradshaw of you! I love it!

Aw Kristine! This skirt is my absolute fave! It is funny that it reminded you of the movie the Wedding Planner because it reminded me of the wedding scene in the SATC movie. But I can't say I thought of bear attacks . . . but I can see it now!
ReplyDeleteI love this... I wish I had a place to wear a skirt like this!

I've been seeing that skirt around and... I kind of love it. And want it. Plus, it'll protect me against bears! Look at that bonus you mentioned. I never would have thought of it before. How are you liking your new ward and new environment? And most importantly: do people think you dress crazy or do you fit right in?
ReplyDeleteokay obsessed! the windows, the skirt, the blazer!!

ReplyDeleteAs a dancer I totally appreciate Tutu's! You are wearing what is called a Romantic Tutu, it was made to make dancers look like they were floating on air when dancing! Cool history huh? haha...Looking fab!!
ReplyDeleteKate
LOVE IT.
ReplyDeleteTrue. I wonder if I was subconsciously inspired by the Man Repeller's wedding ensemble with her motorcycle jacket...
ReplyDeleteNo weird looks, mostly a lot of compliments from cute old ladies, haha! But I do live in LA, so they've seen stranger things ;)
ReplyDeleteYES! Make one! They're so fun! And fluffy!
ReplyDeleteHey girl! I'm loving LA. The weather is amazing. The people are super interesting. And not that I should be eating out at restaurants (budgeting, you know), but if I wanted to, there is amazing food everywhere! And... people totally don't think I dress crazy, haha. I'm pretty mild compared to a lot of people actually. My tutu is kind of a bit outrageous though, so I felt really weird wearing it in my super casual neighborhood, haha!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Love her. Let me know when you are coming to visit!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! I'm in love with this look. That blazer is perfect with the skirt and romantic pink blouse!
