Just a few photos from our LA trip last week... in which most of it was spent APARTMENT HUNTING! That's right. We are moving to Los Angeles! Oh, and double announcement: I'm going back to school!
I'm attending the Fashion Institute of Merchandising and Design (FIDM) for Merchandise Marketing and I could not be more excited. This is something I've thought about a lot after I graduated at ASU. I knew I always wanted to work in the fashion industry, and I've always wanted to go to FIDM to get the skills and connections necessary to do that. A month after we moved to Japan (last May), I had an epiphany and realized I just needed to take the plunge and do it. I applied, and got accepted! A year later, here I am, making my preparations. My term starts in July, so we'll be moving in less than a month.
We're sending our application today for a really cute (and really tiny!) studio apartment in downtown LA. We're really excited for this fun, new chapter in our lives. I'm so thankful to have such a supportive husband who is up for adventures all the time.
So, LA/California people, will you be my friends???
What!!! You guys found an apartment?!? That's awesome!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteit is so cool that your husband referenced the same talk! hopefully you got a chance to listen to the whole thing! i kind of felt like you were going to say you were moving, how exciting! coincidentally, i started a fashion design program really recently too! it was really a struggle at first to decide to do it knowing i had started an education degree and at one point a nursing degree, neither of which i really wanted to do. my bf was so supportive and kept telling me to do what i was passionate about and so i too just took the plunge because i know it is what i am passionate about, so you go girl!! good luck on the apt application!

That's awesome news. Congratulations. I'm glad you have a chance to get back in school doing what you love. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh man! Jealous over here. A little apartment in downtown LA! How fun and adventurous is that going to be! And all that food is making me hungry.
ReplyDelete:] Hooray!
ReplyDeleteOh man! We are too similar! I have a degree in supply chain management, which will be complementary to my program, but I knew I wanted more than that. It was a hard decision to make because it's a big move that requires lots of sacrifice and risk, but I knew I had to try, or else I would regret it for the rest of my life. That is awesome that you are following your dreams as well! Go us :D
ReplyDeleteOh, it's so good to meet another fellow lover of Japan! I dream of going back, too :) Tokyo is my favorite. Thanks so much for your sweet comment!
ReplyDeleteHaha, we definitely need to meet up! Thanks girl!!
ReplyDeleteJuly 1st hopefully! Thanks dear :)
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks girl! I'm excited to see what fashion school is like... I went to business school for college before this and it was BORESVILLE. Just kidding. (Kind of.) And I am so excited to be living in LA! It's such a big change from the open suburbs where I'm from, but I'm definitely ready to explore all the shops and restaurants :D
ReplyDeleteAw I'll miss you, too! Sounds like we'll both be making big moves :) I'm excited to follow your adventures on your blog, though!
