Tee: Uniqlo; Skirt: c/o Corilynn; Shoes: Seychelles (similar)
Thanks for all of your amazingly sweet comments on my last post. Ya'll are just so supportive. I'm glad to be part of such an encouraging community. So thanks, again. I am so excited to start anew in LA and start my program (in less than a month!).
One of the most stressful parts about starting anew and moving is buying STUFF. Although Matt and I have been married for about a year and 9 months, we have stealthily evaded the whole process of buying STUFF. (And by stuff, I mean things that make a space liveable - such as, a microwave, a coffee table, a shower curtain, etc, etc.) We did this by first living in a fancy, fully furnished motorhome for a few months and then living in a tiny, fully furnished closet apartment in Japan for a year. Now, we are forced to slowly but surely learn how to navigate the Craigslist, the furniture sections of thrift stores, and of course, Ikea. I feel like I'm a real live grown-up now.
Can we talk about this skirt? It was sent to me by my lovely sponsor, Corilynn. I think we all know that I have a weakness for high-waisted, full skirts. And then this one came into my life. It is just perfection, and I can't wait to mix and match it with patterned tops and button-ups. I love a skirt you can dress up and down. I paired it with this weird kitty tee because (1) I wanted to add a bit of quirkiness to the sophisticated skirt and (2) It is over 100 degrees out, and button-ups just aren't doing it for me. (Which reminds me, I am so excited to move to the land of 75 degree weather soon...)

I loove this! And the kitty shirt is so quirky and cute!
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is darling!! Gonna have to go check out her shop!!

Oh my crap. That t-shirt is the most beautiful thing i've ever seen in my life.
ReplyDeletehaha! i know exactly what you mean by STUFF. when my husband and i first moved into our own apartment, i was so excited to buy things for our apartment, until i realized it meant that i had to buy my own trash can. and bed. and laundry hampers. what the heck. you have to actually BUY those?
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable!
ReplyDeleteoh gosh, the mister and i are exactly the same. we've lived in a fully furnished basement apartment for the first 10 months of our marriage, so now moving out and having to furnish a place of our own has me excited / nervous!! ;)

Wow this is a gorgeous skirt...I like it paired with a quirky top, kinda tones it down for a more casual vibe...but I could also see it dressed to the nines for a fun outing!

You will have so much fun!! Yes my bf and I are really going to try and be more careful this time when we moved because when we moved from the other coast we literally took just a car full of stuff and got rid of everything else! So we have decided to get things as cheaply as possible because we will probably move again when I am out of school. I love the skirt it is so cute and with the kitten top!!

We're moving to Downtown LA :) It is so scary to me with all the driving and people, haha. We visited Santa Monica during our trip - I'm so jealous you lived there!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS GIRL! You noticed :) And I hope I get to see you soon - I don't work until next Saturday, and my last day is the 27th. So sad!
ReplyDeleteIsn't moving so frustrating?! Haha. We're definitely trying to keep things on the cheap side, too, and it's so crazy how expensive little things like trash cans can get!
ReplyDeleteI love your shirt so much!
