Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I sat in a hot tub, ate lots of good food, and played games. Oh, and there were root beer floats, so needless to say, I had a great time.
I got this jersey cotton skirt at H&M for way cheap because it was so comfortable... and then I went home and realized it made me look like a pseudo business woman. This immediately sent me into flashback mode to my business school days filled with stressful presentations, tense competition and cringe-worthy phrases like 'leverage' and 'low-hanging fruit'. So I instinctively went into defense-mode and threw on this happy scarf and floral wedges and just destroyed that thought cloud.
PS Don't forget to enter into my Lime Ricki giveaway for a swimsuit of your choice! Also, I've got a few spots left for sponsors - e-mail me at kristineorpolly@gmail.com if you think you'd be a good fit.

This pencil skirt looks so cute on you...I'm short and curvy, so I have avoided those longer length stretchy skirts, but totally adore the way they look...jealous :) And your scarf is one of my favourites, always so cheery when you wear it.

To be honest, I don't really mind business attire, I like how put-together it can look when done right, though I wish more colour would be involved...it's the sea of greys, beiges and blacks that gets me more depressed about it than anything else. So with that, I definitely prefer your version of a more dressed-down look with the colourful scarf and floral wedges!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I now realize that I might not be going to the right business school, because we haven't learned anything about "low-hanging fruit" - or any kind of fruit for that matter! :P Though right now, I'm just happy to be on summer break, aka presentation break - those things are the worst!!
Hope you're having a great day!
I like the unexpected floral heels. Love the skirt! It definitely emphasizes your curves!
ReplyDeleteyou are such an adorable business woman! i love how you spiced up just the plain tee and skirt with the cute patterned shoes & scarf.
