Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Here are a few happenings around here...
  • Matt and I had a picnic on Friday... The weather has been absolutely lovely lately in Arizona. We ate sandwiches and watched baby ducks, turtles, and hummingbirds (which was basically like Disneyland to me).
  • We've also been watching lots of movies... This weekend, we watched a few of my favorites: Chicago, Pride and Prejudice, and TRON. Yes, Tron. Am I the only one with an unhealthy obsession with that film?
  • I made amazing oatmeal cookie pancakes... and then I dubbed myself as the BEST. BREAKFAST. COOK. EVER.
  • We found this place in Mesa that had these awesome rugs... how sweet is Marilyn behind me? Just around the corner there was a Justin Bieber rug, too...
  • I decided that we always need to live really, really close to a Trader Joe's.
This necklace is from the lovely Michelle at Twig Creative. I am so envious of her talent! I like to think of this necklace as a little slice of an orange... made out of gold glitter. It's been one of my favorite accessories these last few days!

PS. It has come to my attention that none of my images are Pinnable anymore due to my photos being hosted privately on Flickr... Any fixes for this?

  1. I was wondering why there was a giant marilyn hanging next to a rug! Cool backdrops :D
I love your shoes in this!

  2. Great outfit! You always find the best locations, I'm so jealous! I know that Kendi (Kendi Everyday) and someone else was having the same issue and they were able to resolve. However I'm not sure what they did. You might want to try emailing her for assistance?

  3. Wow, that's an amazing backdrop for that outfit. I'm super jealous you get to live in not only a bigger city, but also that you get to have picnics already!!! And I just LOVE the way you use headscarves. I've been trying them out recently. I just did a post with one, actually. I think it'll take my husband a bit of getting used to, but I like it.

  6. This outfit is so cute! I like the blend of a professional skirt with a comfy gray tshirt. Well accessorized. And great background! I know I totally acknowledge photo backgrounds way more now than I ever did before I started taking my own outfit photos.

  9. This might be a weird question.. but do you alter your skirts at all? I'm your size, probably a little bit bigger and I can't seem to find ANY pencil skirts that fit perfect around my high waist and stop just above my knees. Any advice?

  13. This scarf & skirt are totally adorable on you. And that background is kind of amazing :)

I don't really use Flickr, but this article says there is an 'opt out' button in your privacy settings.

Good luck, hope you can sort it out.

  15. Kristine! thank you so much for the kind words. The necklace looks fabulous on you. It's totally an orange slice, I love that description. I'm envious of your talent, I look through your outfits and wish wish wish I had you here as a personal stylist. Let me know if you're ever in Utah, I seriously want your help!

  16. I'm diggin' the backdrop - and your headscarf!

  17. I don't use flickr and didn't realize you couldn't pin them. That's a sad state of affairs! I've seen people pinning your images, still, so there are determined fans that are making it happen slowly.

Anyway, you look cute as always. I'm jealous of your nice weather because it has been pretty terrible here. It was raining most of today and I haven't even been able to THINK of whipping out my red pencil skirt sans eleven extra layers. Also... fess up. You totally bought the Bieber rug, right? (:

  19. Haha what can I say... I love my scarves! ;)

  20. It IS a sad state of affairs! I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. Guh. I'm sorry you've had awful weather... I think back to Japan when it would rain like every. Single. DAY. And it was terrible. And I totally WISH I bought the Bieber rug!

  21. Haha, you are too kind! I'll definitely let you know if I'm ever in Utah!

  22. Thanks so much Loren! I clicked it and opted 'in' but I'm still having issues :( I really appreciate your help though!

  23. I actually don't alter my skirts, although I would like to learn sometime. I think that would definitely make shopping easier. I don't own too many pencil skirts for the same reason as you - it's rough to find the right size! Really, with this one it was just luck. Anthro has a few stretchy pencil-ish skirts I can think of that I think are great... I've also had luck at H&M.

  24. Thanks for the advice Joanne! I just e-mailed Kendi so hopefully she can help! Crossing my fingers...

  25. Yesss!!! I'm not sure why I do... it's not really like any of the other movies that I like... who knows.

  26. They were soh gewd. They were more like oatmeal cinnamon pancakes because I omitted a few ingredients... but they were still AWESOME.

  27. Oh, I do hope you work out the Flickr + Pinterest issue, I was going to pin this to my hairstyles inspiration board to try to do the turban/head scarf thing that you're rocking! You look so cute in it.

  28. When I use flickr, I usually download the photo to my desktop, then upload to the blog from there ... not sure if that will solve the problem?  I hope you share the solution when you find it - I wanted to pin an outfit you wore a few posts back, but it didn't work with Pinterest. :)
